Do you live in one of the following Portland neighborhoods? LIBBYTOWN; PARKSIDE; SAINT JOHN VALLEY; WEST END; OR WESTERN PROM?
If so, you can get a FREE native tree or shrub planted at your home! ReForest the City is a program of the West End Neighborhood Association, and we have free native trees and shrubs available. In the spring of 2025, WENA’s ReForest the City will be planting a native tree or shrub in yards of those residents who apply and are accepted. These trees and shrubs will enhance the beauty of a yard, help reduce the heat island effect, and provide critical wildlife habitat. This initiative is neighborhood specific and first consideration will be given to areas with little or no tree canopy.
TENANTS: Feel free to apply if you believe you can get your landlord's permission to have a tree/shrub planted.

If your application is approved, we’ll come visit your home and recommend a tree or shrub.
You sign a placement and maintenance agreement and we will schedule a date for planting.**
We’ll plant your tree or shrub! You would be responsible for watering and care, but we will teach you how to do it.
All homeowners are required to sign a 2-year Tree/Shrub Maintenance Agreement to care for and water the tree or shrub. If you are not the homeowner you will need permission and a signed maintenance agreement from the landowner.
